Independent Security Research & Applied Engineering
The Cygiene Research Initiative (CRI) is an independent research and development program established under Cygiene Solutions to investigate emerging challenges in cybersecurity, develop experimental security technologies, and explore opportunities for commercial innovation. Our work operates at the intersection of offensive security, defensive engineering, cryptography, surveillance and telemetry, and artificial intelligence.
Research Philosophy
We believe meaningful technical innovation begins with curiosity, disciplined experimentation, and a willingness to challenge existing assumptions. Rather than developing technology exclusively in response to predetermined product requirements, CRI takes a research-first approach: investigating technical problems, developing working prototypes, documenting experimental results, and evaluating opportunities for practical application.
Research Objectives
Research Deliverables
Each completed research project is expected to produce three primary artifacts:
I. Technical Prototype
A working proof of concept, experimental system, software component, or validated implementation
demonstrating the proposed capability.
II. Research Publication
A technical paper documenting the research question, supporting theory, implementation architecture,
methodology, experimental evidence, results, and limitations.
III. Commercial Assessment
An evaluation of potential applications, market relevance, competitive alternatives, intellectual property
considerations, and possible commercialization strategies.
Purpose
To bridge the gap between independent technical experimentation and practical security innovation—transforming research questions into working technology, documented knowledge, and potentially valuable intellectual property.
